"Framed by a boundlessly boisterous narrative voice that speaks directly to the reader and is all but impossible to resist, Susannah Lloyd's Badgers Are GO! is a sure-fire, read-in-one-sitting winner of a story for 7+-year-olds who adore madcap animal adventures. Dancing with high-stakes hi-jinks, much mayhem and many mishaps, Badgers Are GO! also ripples with a whole lot of humour that’s dashingly enhanced by Nici Gregory's characterful illustrations..”
Love Reading 4 Kids
"Susannah Lloyd’s first chapter book is an absolute hoot! Packed with cute, detailed illustrations and fun wordplay, Badgers Are Go is a fantastic read-aloud (our library book club is loving it!), with lots of opportunities to “do the voices” for a cast of characters that crosses Dad’s Army with The Worst Witch. The double agent is telegraphed very early in proceedings so readers will have great fun despairing of the grown-up characters, who are completely oblivious to the sabotage going on, whilst rooting for little Lulu to find her courage and save the day. With an explosive finale, Badgers Are Go is sure to entertain readers from 6-8 years old..”

"Susannah balances light-hearted fun with underlying themes of self-acceptance and perseverance. Lulu’s doubts and failures are as much a part of her character as her successes, making her journey all the more inspiring for young readers who may be navigating their own challenges. The illustrations by Nici add an extra layer of charm to the book. They are vibrant and full of life, bringing the badger characters and their world to vivid, quirky life, complementing the text beautifully. Badgers Are GO! is a thoroughly enjoyable read that will leave you laughing, cheering, and perhaps looking at badgers a little differently. It’s a heart-warming, whimsical story that proves being yourself, even with all your imperfections, is what truly saves the day. Utterly spiffing chaps! ..”
Miss Cleaveland Is Reading
"By jove, Susannah’s first foray into chapter books is a riotous success. By giving badgers the personalities and mannerisms of ‘carry on’ style sergeant majors and control of the world, then adding in Nici’s genius artistic charaterisation, this author/illustrator team has a hilarious hoot on their hands. If the Velvet Claw returns (and we have our fingers crossed that he will) then we are first in line to read all about it. Tally ho, old chap, what a spiffingly, splendid book!"
Bently Heath Bookclub
"Chocks away, tally-ho and we are off for a spiffing top-secret adventure! Ssshh, don’t tell anyone! This book is not for grown up humans, it is for badger viewing only! Are you ready to read on? My daughter and I hugely enjoyed reading this book a few chapters at a time. Susannah Lloyd’s has injected all the humour into the entertaining storyline. Whilst the black and white illustrations by Nici Gregory capture the expressions and characters so well..”
